Since July 2001, Francesco Pastore has been Assistant Professor of Economics
at Seconda Università di Napoli, where he is also holding the second chair of
Political Economy and that of Economics of Financial Intermediaries. He lectures Econometrics at the Faculty of Economics. He is the Secretary of the Italian Association of Labour Economics (AIEL).
Previously, he was research fellow at ISAE and at the University of Naples
"Federico II".
He obtained his Ph.D. in Economics at the University of Sussex, the Dottorato di
Ricerca in Development Economics and Policy at the University of Naples
"Federico II" and a M.Sc. in Economics at Coripe (Piemonte), University of
Turin.
He received various scientific awards by, among others, GDN, CEPR and Ente
Einaudi.
He has acted as an advisor for ILO, UNDP and Brodolini Foundation. He was awarded grants within the
EU-TSER, the CERGE-EI, the EERC and the CNR frameworks.
His main research interests are in the field of labour market dynamics,
especially long-term (youth) unemployment, returns to education and ALMP. His
scientific production regards not only Italy, but also various transition
countries, such as Belarus, Mongolia and Poland.
His papers have been published or are forthcoming in international (such as Journal of Economic Surveys; Economics of Education Review; Economics of Transition; Annals of Public and Cooperative
Economics; Eastern European Economics; Post-Communist Economies; Comparative Economic Studies;
European Journal of Comparative Economics;
Review of Middle East Economics and Finance;
Transition Studies Review)
in national journals (such as Economia Politica; Studi
Economici; Economia e Lavoro; Osservatorio ISFOL; Nonprofit) and in edited books published by Palgrave MacMillan, Routledge, Springer Verlag.
He has edited two special issues of the International Journal of Manpower: vol. 31(2)
In 2010 he has published a hanbook with Springer Verlag of: Microeconomia di Base. Con esercizi svolti
In February 2004, Francesco
joined IZA (http://www.iza.org/)
as a research fellow.
